OBD not giving SES code

[94-camaro-v6]

ok so i connect pins a and b on the OBD1 interface of my camaro and nothing happens??, ignition on and dash lights up as normal but no codes ar displayed is there other ways of getting codes like diagnostic tool if so where can i buy it from and what is the correct name ?

Try, www.autoxray.com ,they have some good scanners.Auto Zone,Advance,Pep Boys,etc.,sell some like Actron scanners for example.A '94 F-Body had a differnt interface cable than OBD2, or pre '94 OBD1 GMs,so make sure it has the right one.Wow! Did'nt see at first you're from the U.K.,guess you'll have to send in for a scanner,'cause I don't think you have an Auto Zone there, heard they now sell the very good auto x rays there.

So the Haynes Workshop Manual is helpful then, cos it describes the procedure, lol.
