  • BCM issues still........calling DieFordV8

Remember last winter, we went over this? Still happening. (but hey, i never replaced it)

My main question is, did you ever get a new one? Junkyard one? Hows it holding up?

Had my first few really cold days last night and the night before, and my car did it when i tried to start it.

1996 Camaros, both 3800 and Z28's are the most reliable years for some reason. BUT, the only problem that EVERY 1996 owner seems to have is a cold-start problem with the BCM module behind the glove box.

Basically, if its around freezing to 40* at night, and you open your car the next morning, you will hear this clicking noise from the BCM, and the dome light will go nuts. The car wont start until the clicking noise stops, normally after like 10 seconds or so.

For some reason, the BCM module in 96's just messes up. DieFordV8 was able to figure out that it was the BCM causing the problem, and i believe he bought a brand new one. Wanted to know if anyone that replaced theirs has had problems since then.

I know how to replace it, where to get it, and how much they are, i just wanted to know about further reliability of the box. My car only had about 70,000 miles when it started giving me problems.
