    ok my one fuel injector is dead.do I have to change all 6 of them or just that bad 1?

        you mean your 'former' mechanic told you you can't replace just one?

        Was he going to sell you the injectors?

          well the car is still over at a mechanic shop.been sitting there for like 10 days.he said he cant replace only 1,it needs all 6 replaced :rolleyes: wants like $500

              don't replace 'just one' with an aftermarket injector but you can replace 'just one' with a GM stock part from gmpartsdirect.com

              It is not hard to replace an injector. do you have any tools?

              A $20 haynes manual will show you how to do it. All you need is a metric socket to release the fuel rail and then you pop the bad injector out and replace it with the new injector. Use towels to soak up any fuel and also open the gas cap and bleed the schraeder valve (passenger side fuel rail...looks like a bycicle tire vale) before you start removing the fuel rail. bam. 30 minutes or less.

              If you don't have the tools...you now have a $500 - $70 (injector) = $430 tool budget to 'do it yourself.'

                the last camaro i had i replaced just one with an aftermarket..it was a bosch.. i had no problems. You can do it your self, most of them should be easy depending on which on it is.

                  yes, diy. My former mechanic wanted to replace all 6 of mine at 140 per for just the part plus 70 per shop hour. found reman injectors for 37.00 per and did it myself in 3 hours (stop laughing)

                    omg called another shop today just to ask.he said they would charge around $1000-1500 to replace the injectors :rolleyes: .he said its a $150 a piece

                      Look dude, if it was hard to do i would recommend you have someone do it. You can ask anyone here. But...This is something you can do your self with no special tools. Depending on which one it is...it should take in between 1-4 hours tops. You better go over there and get your car, he's going to start charging you a storage fee. Then hes going to say let me do the work, or pay me the storage fee.

                        well went down to the place to have my car towed somewhere else.I think the engine is dead because of the alternator that they tampered with.started but idles at 2000-3000rpms and sounds like ****,shakes so bad
