• Just Finished My First Oil Change Ever!

It was fun! I've never done it before.

I went out and bought the AC Delco short oil filter and I went to go buy some mobil one full synthetic 10w30 but they didn't have any more so I looked over and did the Castrol Full Synthetic 10w30.. With trips and clean up took just under and hour.

Is it just me or is my engine idiling smoother? I dunno i think I'm just looking for something. Fun times! Thanks for everyones help. So till next 3000 mile mark!

oh dude, how many miles do you have on the car? Some say that using full-synethtic on a high mileage 3.8 is bad. Over time the seals in your engine start to break down(of course ) and when you add synthetic, it being somewhat slipperier(only word I can ever think of to describe synthetic), it finds the spots in the seals that it can seep thourgh. In short, you may develop oil leaks. I'm NOT saying this will happen, but it has been know to happen.

Read Mobil1.com and you will learn this is a false rumor.

      Anyways - Congratulations!

You can ask people on the board, it has happened to them. And its not just Mobil 1 synthetic. I would think you would know that, being on the board so long.

No need to worry at 56k. My '96 has over 100k, I would bring synthetic anywhere near it. I guess it would have been nice for me to say congrats in my first post, my bad . Congrats! :D
