  • Seafoamed today, did i do it right?

i just followed the directions on the can. i put about half the can in through the brake booster (maybe a little under half). I didnt see all the smoke everyone was talking about. It smoked for about 10 seconds fairly heavy and then it was done. Light smoke came out for about 3 min after this. I also noticed a puff of black smoke when the white stopped for just a second, thats when the little bit of white smoke came out for a while. Should i have put more in?the engine never did stall (it almost did though)

i also put in about a half can into the crankcase and im going to change the oil again in just 500 miles. i also put about half a can in the gas.

I don't know about it either. I tried to do it to mine, but it didn't seem to work like everyone elses. Mine tried to stall the second it lost vaccuum. I got very minimal ammounts into the vaccuum line from the brake booster. So I put a small pan under the line and kinda "forcefed" more through the line. I finally got about a 1/3 of the can in there and started the car up. She sputtered once and wouldn't start. So I tried again and the car puked on me. It really spit up the Sea Foam. The Sea Foam came out the intake. The fluid was very dirty. I put a little in through the throttle body (had a hose attached to the can). Tried to start it again. Cranked it up again, finally she fired up. Sputtered for a minute and then smoked for a whole 15 seconds. Then it was done. I put 1/3 of the can in my oil and the rest in the tank. Then I ran another 1/3 from a different can through the vaccuum line. Same thing. Car died the moment it lost vaccuum. I will say this though, my pals Sonoma with a 4.3 drank 2/3 of the can without a single sputter, but then she smoked for over a half hour. Oh well.

My '98 S-10 smoked like hell while I poured it in, would'nt stall, and then after 5 min. I started it and got a little smoke for about 30 sec.

You put 1/2 to 3/4 through the brake booster, then the rest into the crankcase.
If it doesn't stall then just turn off the car.
Wait about 5 minutes then start the car again. It may not start right away, but once it does you will see all that smoke everyone keeps talking about.

What does it do when you pour it into the fuel tank and with the oil? Does it hurt the lubrication with the oil at all?

man you should put it in through the vacuum line, and just go till it dies. Don't worry about putting it in your gas or anything yet, just put as much in as it takes to stall the engine. If you do it right you should see hella foam, if not i don't know what to tell you.

Not all cars will stall when you do this. If they don't, just turn it off. Wait a solid 5-10 minutes to let it do its job. Then start it up, and maybe give it some load, take a short spirited drive to work everything up a bit. And no, SeaFoam will not make your car literally foam, if it does, something went wrong.

It's not supposed to smoke unless you put it in the vacuum line. Putting it in the oil and/or gas shouldn't give u any smoke at all really.

also make sure you put it in the car after the car is warmed up.
