  • Fluttering in the AC

When I turn on my AC I hear a fluttering sounds. There isn't anything in the vent. It just started one day out of the blue and you can hear it on any vent setting. When the heater is on you don't hear the sound. Before I stared ripping my car appart I thought I would ask you guys.

    Thanks

Mine did they same thing last week, I thought there was like a dragonfly or small bird or terradactyl in there or something. It was a fluttering sound like you said, I hated it. I just closed the vents and was gonna let it die...maybe it wasn't an animal after all...

Mine started doing that too, but I think there is a leaf stuck deep inside it somewhere....

I have had small leaves caught in my fan before. It sounds just like you described. It would only happen at certain fan speeds.

The fan is like a small cage that will catch debris, rather than throw it in you face.

You might have something in the fan. It's pretty easy to get to (passenger footwell, underdash, 3 metric bolts, unplug unit, remove).
