  • Left wheel trouble....

I've been having trouble recently with my left wheel. The car drives fine and everything. The problem is when I break, I feel the car start to shake, and feel the left wheel kind of wobbling around. It even happens when I barely tap the break, not using force. I am kind of concerned because I decided to see what would happen if I breaked hard, and I felt the left tire start turning into the car. I was told it had to do with the bushings.

If anyone has experienced this problem or may have any idea why my car is doing this, it will be most appreaciated. Also, any price range at around how much it will cost me to fix this problem? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a badly warped rotor and/or siezed caliper since it only happens when you apply the brake.

Ya it's really scary to be honest. I apply the break just a bit, and my freaking steering wheel begins to go nuts and shakes a lot...

jack up the car, and check for play in the bearings. leave tire on and grip top to bottom and wiggle, there should be no play in it. Look for worn parts.

Warped rotor, bearing would do it all the time, not just during braking.

Thats a warped rotor all right. I go through rotors myself like crazy. I'm one of those gun it and slam the breaks driver. :D

Strange that its only felt on one side though. It could be heat warped if you hit a puddle on that side and splashed the hot rotor.

you could also just have the rotors machined

Cool, thanks for the feedback. Any idea on how much it may cost? That's my biggest concern of all.
