Ok so I come to work this morning and park the car, no problem. I go out side about 2 hours later and there is a puddle comming from under the car after taking a glance Ifind that it is indead comming from my car. it is clear and does not smell like anything, it does feel a little oily. Comming from the back of the engine bay. I am at a loss as to what this could be I did not run the AC this morning either. Please help.
oh the car is a 1996 with a auto if this helps it has about 113k on it

Did you have your AC running? ......be careful if it is that, the liquid is dangerous and expensive. It costs $1.50 per 16 oz in most stores, thousands of people die each year from inhaling it and hundreds die from hyperhydration......seriously, if it is the AC, it's only water, I live in Humidity Central and when I run my AC I get a big puddle under the car

A little oily? Where under the engine? Break fluid....which mine was in a nice puddle under my car the other day would be on the DS and is very oily feeling, slight oder. Oil, coolant and tranny fluid is a distinct color and smell. Did you run the windsheild defrost? That's the AC too......I am runnign out of ideas here.....you are sure the puddle came from your car?....where was it dripping from?

it was near the back of the engine compartment on the right (passenger side) I think that I did have the defrost on but it has never caused that before ( will it condensate on warm?) I do appreciate the ideas cause like you I ran out of thoughts on it. I have never seen it do this before. I just went out and looked and it seems to have stoped the puddle is drying up. as for the oily that may have been comming from the parking lot. oh and yes it is deffinantly from the maro I saw it drip. If the defrost (even on warm) will cause it to condensate then that is probably what it was I did not know it would do that.

The condensor comes on when the defrost is on....this runs the freon thru the system so it still compresses and expands the gas....I woudl gues it was the AC

Whether or not you turn on your AC, the compressor kicks in and out while you are driving to keep the refrigerant moving in the system. There fore, especially on humid days, you'll still have that colorless, oderless substance (water) dripping from your car. I would check your refridgerant levels though, it seems that the kicking in and out of the compressor is an indicator of low pressure in the system.
