I'm having hesitation under load. No problem when in neutral and first gear is also pretty good, but second and up hesitates at WOT. The Car recently had new plugs and wires, fuel filter and cat converter installed. Should I check the coils next? What would cause hesitation under load only?

hey i know this post is no help but im having the same darn problem with my car except for i have it in every gear

lesse i changed all my plugs and wires twice egr valve, btw thats a 400 dollar peice cause we got digital 3 valve things. it eventually plugged my exhaust and i had to change all that soo now im running no cat (good ole michigan, free of emissions testing) im thinking maybe o2 sensors. i put it on the computer and everything looks normal???????????? uhh try your o2 sensors. and maybe your egr valve. blocking off the egr will tell me if its that so maybe I'll try that. Not familiar with checking the coils - do I just get an ohm meter? And what should I be looking for regarding the vacuum line?

If you've already had your plugs and wires replaced the coils are going to be your next best bet. I just got my car back from the shop where I was having the same problems. I had 1 coil replaced about six months ago for the same problem and about 2 weks again the other two coils went out so the mechanic at my chevy dealership had them replaced. All covered under the extended waranty. ;)

make sure none of the wires are touching the engine. or even getting close. that'll easily do it. also i think check plus 6? i think thats a trouble some one on the 3.8's
