Ok how do I get this som b!tch out? I need to remove it in order to remove the passenger side valve cover. I removed the one bolt I could feel back there. Got back on top of the engine and its acting like its either wedged, welded or another bolt that I can not get to is back there holding it on. Where is the mystery bolt?

You need to remove the engine hoist mount. The bolt is right behind that.

engine hoist mount, yes. Thats the proper term I guess.

Where is the second bolt? I got the obvious one out already and that wasn't the easiest either. You do have to remove the hoist mount don't you in order to get that valve cover off?

God what happened to the SBC days...valve cover off in less than 2 minutes.

Yes, the bracket has to come off to get to valve cover off. I don't believe it's connected to the valve cover, you just can't get that bolt on the cover to get it off unless you remove the bracket.

Yes, I realize that but i'm having trouble removing the bracket.

But that pic you posted helped a ton, i'm going to try and run my hand back there and get off that other bolt. Then when i get that hoe off, i'm throwing it in my tool chest for good.

That's exactly what I did. I don't want to have to take that damn thing off again just to pull off a valve cover, so I keep it off until I have to remove the motor.
