Accels are 8.8 MM i believe as are most wires that say 8 MM. Extra $40 compared to what?

I can get standard replacement wires for 60$

or I can get 9MM(upgraded from 8.8mm, that's all he's got) for $60 more... I guess I'm wondering if it's worth it performance wise.

Or are plugs and wires not going to buy me that much...?

          thanks...

Not worth the extra $$$ IMO.

I'd just get some 8mm and be happy with them.

              Here, get these: http://www.thunderracing.com/index.c...ategoryid=1088

I've also wondered about wires bigger than 8mm but it's most likely over kill. I've seen imports go bigger than 8mm but I've also seen them put lights on their windsheild washer nossles. Do you really want to do like they do?

Oh yeah, I also don't like Accel very much. I've had a few fall apart on me. So have a few people I know. Like part of the wire staying on the plug when you pull it off.

thanks guys... i appreciate it. it doesn't seem worth it for my na 3.8 to spend 130$ on wires alone.

i'd rather put that towards 3.42's or soemthing ;)

Just because the wire is bigger doesn't mean that it will be better. Try to find a resistance rating for the wires in question. I custom made my MSD wires because they have a VERY low resistance rating...soemthing like 50 ohms per foot. When I made mine, I tested them before I installed them and all were at less than 100 ohms of resistance. MSD makes an awesome wire, but honestly, I don't think you will tell too much more performance gain with the larger wires. Our stock ignition systems are pretty strong as is. Make sure that your wires are made well too...my first set of wires were the Crane Firewires (8.5mm). I thought they were nice at first, but they turned out to be a nightmare when they started going bad after only one year on the car...not very high performance.
