Never settle for lesser 02 sensors. GET AC DELCO. you can get them at a good price at http://www.gmpartsdirect.com Sure they are expensive. but think about it. If your gas milage is bad then that will cost A LOT more then replacing your 02's every few years

Bosch doesn't make the O2 sensors GM puts out?

I know NGK makes the AC Delco Iridium plugs I installed in my car.

Those are for the old OBD I controlled cars, those are 1 wire sensors. Hence my previous post about the good ol days when they were cheap to replace. We have 3 wire O2 sensors on OBD II cars (95 3800's and all 96+).

You on;y need 2 02 sensors. The 2 fronts is it. Rears have no effect on the cars performance. Like I said. spend a little over 100 on 02's every few years or even more on gas cause it's getting eaten up from poor performance. a CA test done on 02's stated that 75% of all the cars tested had 02's that were efecting fuel milage.

so the one after the cat you can just leave alone?

However, would that be the most likely culprit of the 1420 code?

I get around 30 mpg now that I recently changed my spark plugs, fuel filter, and filled up my tires. Would the new o2 sensors give me even better mileage??? I would really like to see 35-40 MPG.

how much do you guys get with the 3.4s? mine is eating so much gas, i think a v8 is more economic. my 02 sensors are definetely burnt up (184k miles)... i have a high flow cat, so i cant put the sensor on that. what do i need to change to get decent gas mileage on my car? with todays gas prices, you cant afford not to spend $300 on sensors, you'll get that money back in a month or two. btw.. i think my car is getting like 15mpg, at most. i failed emissions, (they sniffed a corolla, so i passed ). my engine was rebuilt 3k miles ago, so compression shouldn't be a problem.

You need a Civic DX 5 speed and drive it like a grandma.

My old 3.4 got worse gas mileage than my 3800 does, like 17-18mpg city on a GOOD day... I think its the nature of the beast, change the O2 sensors and go from there.

I can get about 350 miles on a tank of fuel. I only run the good stuff. I just replaced both of my o2's and they were 20$ a piece @ auto zone.
