I think John_D is onto something with the idea of the throwout bearing. The way the clutch is set up, it's constantly riding pressure on the fingers of the clutch assy. When you press the clutch, it increases the pressure on those fingers releasing the clutch disc. If you look at a clutch assy. diagram you'll see the return spring is on the back side of the throwout bearing instead of on the clutch side. I thought this was weird when I installed my new clutch, but that's the way it came apart. It also could be the fingers on the clutch assy. wearing out as well. My car had 68K on it and my throwout bearing was TRASHED!!! Good luckNitrous is like a hot chick with an STD....you wanna hit it, but you\'re affraid of the consequences...

http://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/view_page.pl?page_id=244935
