Coworker wants to race

I have 1995 3.4l Camaro that's stock. One of my coworkers has a 2000 Mitsubishi Lancer that's also stock. He wants to race me, but I know that he would blow me away. If I could put $1000 into my car to make it kill his Lancer, what upgrades do you people suggest? Oh, and I do want to KILL his Lancer, not just beat it by a nose.

Depends on what transmissions both cars have, the condition of yours, and I am guessing its not a EVO right? You may beat hit any depending on those. As far as the $1000, N2O, Intake and Exhaust.

yeah about the only thing I can think of is an intake, exaust, and a 75 shot to make sure it is not a close race.

umm just looking at MSN autos for specks on the lancer and they are not listing them untill the 2002 model. but the 05 specks are either a

2.0L at 120 HP----ES and OZ-RALLY
2.4L at 162 hp----RALLIART
2.0 at 276hp------EVOLUTION series's

not sure what those things weigh but intake and exaust should put you 2 neck and neck if its the Ralliart. does the base models come with the AWD option? you should look into getting a V8 rear end with the 3.42 gears and LSD. I think a good launch woud put it in the bag for you. and in all it should be under 1K minus the nitrous

I must have been out of sync... but I could have sworn 3.4's had more than 160HP...

^^^ Not always true, He has a 3.4 if its an auto and the lance is a stick the lancer with probaly beat him even tho it doesn't have the same amount of HP its a lot lighter than the f body.

lambo you could probably take the lancer as long as you have exhaust and CAI really. just launch well and that should get you a "W". i raced a few in my 3.4 and beat them with Exhaust and CAI.

for 1000 i would get a new K&N, construct my own intake to save money, new exhaust, shift kit, and like a 50 shot of N20. anything left i would use for underdrive pullies. that should put him to rest. heck take what money is left put money on the race..that way when you beat him youll win back some of your mod money. :D
