  • Exhaust problem

when i got my 94 3.4, it has an aftermarket exhaust on it. i'm not sure what type it is, but it runs off a ypipe, and splits at the muffler, though it is large diameter piping the whole way, when i let off the throttle, it sounds like garbage. it backfires occationally, and just sounds awful. sounds ok when i'm exelerating, but at higher rpm's it sounds whiny. do any of you know how i might fix this?

That will happen if you throw like a 3" exhasu system on our V6 cars. Also, some cars do taht anyways, when you are decelerating, your engine is at higher RPM's, yet the throttle is closed, so sometimes, the car might run a little lean, and back fire slightly.
