  • Some goofy electrical/PCM problems....

hey guys I am pretty sure I know what it is but its kinda goofy...

Alright ahwile ago my alternator to the battery wire was severely corroded, I yanked it and spliced in a battery cable. At the ssplice to the battary, the cover is slightly exposed.

The rpoblems my car has been facing, is occasionally the car will be running normal, then studder a little, radio will shut down and guages will go apesh|t,like bouncing between 80 and 120 when I am going roughly 45, and my tach will bounce between 5k and the 7k. but I am chiling at like 1500 rpms.

So do you guys think I am having ECM troubles? I am thinking not since my radio gives me trouble at the same time and I do not think the radio is in anyway linked to the ECM jsut sounds like a electrical problem maybe part of the wire is tapping the frame and grounding out to a minor short?

Sound about right to you guys?

    It sounds electrical to me.

That's what happened to me when my alternator was going out. Maybe the corroded line to the alternator messed it up over time, or maybe it's just time to replace it. I'd take it up to Autozone and have em check it out.
