    ok if my computer was to go bad in my 99 firebird could i just put in a another 99 firebird pcm with the same things i have and not have to do anything but install it

    But what makes you think the PCm is bad? You can also have it tested. [Haynes]Just make sure to disconnect the neagtive battery cable.[/haynes] :D

      yeah i looked in the haynes manual for pcm problemes but the car wont start so i cant do the test that i found which was to tap the pcm while the engine is running

      and my mechanic said that it is either pcm or key but is till dont see why it would be either becuse the car is just not getting and fire

        If you swap PCMs you will need to get a crank position relearn procedure done or you SES light will flash due to random misfires.

        A dealer should be able to do this procedure or most diagnostic scanners can do it. Just takes a couple of minutes.

          ok yeah my friends scanner can do that i belive but i still dont see why the comp would be doing this it wouldnt start ever since i got the camshat sernsor wires caught in the belt as soon as it happend the engine quit so i checked all the wires with a meter and bought a newcrank and cam shaft sensor but the thing still want get fire
