I know that a v8 cluster will work in a v6 but would a 99 one work in a 96 v6? What would i need from the 99 tach to have the pulse the same so the tach will work right?

From reading these 2 posts,

it seems that there is a way to recalibrate the tach, but no one seems to be sure how. The speedo should work in your 96.
