I'm seriously considering doing 'the' swap from my 2001 V6 w/ 13K on it, to this one:

Looks pretty nice, LT1 stroked to a 383.

I guess I would need a 6-speed, headers, computer stuff... anything more?

I would be selling my engine with only 13K on her for around $600

RK Sport Headers for $375

Hypertech Power Programmer (which I bought a month ago for $450) for $375

Borla Dual Exhaust for $400

So what else would I need, and what else could I sell off my car now that wouldn't work with the LT1?

a 383 Stroker in an F-body is BAD *** ! A friend of mine here in Lubbock just did the swap in his old Lt1. He has already run a low 13 all motor, which LS1's only run maybe a high 13 here stock, and he hasn't got much tuning done yet, nor aftermarket headers. So once he gets that, and hits the n2o button that's already installed, expect some low 12's or high 11's here. It's a wicked car! Anywhere near sea level he would have 12's all motor.

I plan on buying SLP Long Tube Headers, a Borla Catback Exhaust, along with the engine first thing.

Qustion: Will I be able to keep my intake up the the Throttle Body, or will everything need to be replaced? Also, what's 4l60E Tranny w/13K worth?

intake,You'll need the lt1 intake if ya want to make that motor an lt1(as it dosent come with an intake)you'll also need the lt1s cpu/wiring, optispark distributer(pos) its front cover/waterpump and a reverse flow radiator.

it would probly be easyer/cheeper to get a tpi motors intake/cpu,as you can keep that standered front cover and distributer.

6-Speed Transimission - $1100

Opti Spark Distributor - $175

K&N FIPK - $180

Water Pump - $150

CPU/Wiring - ?

SLP Long Tube Headers - $850

So how much more have I left off of this list? I'm trying to come up with an exact number as to what this will cost before I begin buying.

Will my Borla Exhaust fit the SLP Long Tube Headers?
