Originally posted by SirShaun: might be dumb Q. If all the plugs are fireing and #2 injector isnt spraying fuel. How is unburned fuel going to make it to the cat if #2 injector isnt spraying?
Yes, very true. If you're sure the injector isn't firing, then there will be no excess of fuel. How do you know that the injector isn't firing? Did you use a noid light? And if you suspect that the injector isn't firing, did you try swapping the injector in #2 w/ the injector of another cylinder? Then you would have a better idea of what the problem is. If the miss went to a cylinder besides #2, then I would think its a clogged and/or defective injector.
Just out of curiosity, did you do any work to the car before this problem occurred?
We have changed plugs/wires/coil pack/ICM. We took all the plugs out and #2 was dry every time. We laid the plug on engine in wire and the plug still fires. So right there we knew the plug wasnt getting fuel. We take the fuel rail off and #2 injector was rusted pretty good. We replace the #2 injector with a new one. #2 cylinder is still missing. Dad took it to shop yesterday and put it on the computer. Everyone was telling him the signs are showing the computer is not telling #2 injector to spray. The SES light has never came on or anything.
And no work was done to the car before this problem occured.
