I could see tips making a difference not much of one but a difference non the less.

Didn't have to shut down the thread.

Who u calling a newbie , newbie. My point was that my pipes were cut about two feet from the origional length. I have a Flowmaster 80 exhaust and had new tips welded on end in place of the OEM tips. The tips are almost 24 inches long. I had them welded so they wouldn't stick out from the bumper. This ate up about two feet of oem pipe and replaced the narrow pipe with a rather large open tip. It did change the note as well as allow my engine to flow easier because the oem pipe was restrictive due to a narrow end. My car is faster off the line and has a great deal more response when I open it up. Don't know what to tell you doubters but it is.

with the amount of stupidity on this board I don't know why I'm still here!!

                Let's see...

1.) TIps now make MASSIVE hp and help me pull like a mofo. Ok...

2.) What's the best sounding exhaust...that's an opinion...

3.) Manually shifting an automatic will allow the car to shift better.

4.) I can FEEL a difference in power when I install a mod that will give me 1hp at the flywheel. DUDE, I INSTALLED MY K/N FILTER AND OMG IT PULLS HARD...REAL HARD. OMFG LOL... :D

5.) The 3.4L and the 3.8L are the greatest thing since sliced bread. They can beat 5.0s like they're nothing. I've beaten one or two but not as many as some of you...

6.) I can go on and on but I'm going to try and go back to bed since it's 6am

Give the guy a break... he was just stating an opinion or his experience. No reason to bash him. Now, whether his mod actually made a difference or not, is another question, but to each his own.

oh...btw... don't call out a mod like that. E-mail him personally and e-mail the admins if you have a beef with him. He locked your post for a reason... and if you think he did it with bias, then talk to the admins.

Neither do I. You're a moron and you've done nothing but complain and whine about the site ever since you posted 10 times in a "new Lounge Moderator needed" thread a few months ago when Dr. Squirts ended up being selected. Go away.

As for OSGiles202... a few notes. First, we have an intake/exhaust forum where all intake and exhaust posts are supposed to go. It is forum number three. If you've been around since September of 2002 then I'm sure you've seen it by now. Second, I'm trying to say this politely but tips do not generate horsepower or torque, no matter how long they are or how much metal the shop cut off in order to weld them on. Third, if a moderator or an admin locks one of your posts, even with a snide remark, please do not start a new thread dogging him/her. In a flamewar like that between a newbie and a mod, you cannot win. You can win, however, if you are polite and e-mail said moderator privately inquiring about why your post was locked. We've had moderator complaints before where we actually sided with the rookie (doesn't happen often because the mod is usually right, but it has happened).

You were suspended by another admin until AIS ended and the rest of us got back. I'm going to lift your suspension for now. Post appropriately and you'll be fine, but post like this again and the ban will be permanent.

That said, I have 3.5" x 16" tips on my Flowmaster and Jenn has 2.75" tips on hers... All other things being equal, mine sound a lot deeper because there is more volume for the sound to resonate in. Larger tip = deeper sound... to a point. But there is no difference in power output.

                        Locking again.
