And everytime I get under the car I cannot figure out where it is coming from. It leaks onto the Y pipe, where it then smokes. Anyone else ever have this problem?

probably from the valve cover gasket. Thast what my mechanic said when he fixed it, cost me about 500 bucks, but in the dealer could go for more.
Its a pain cause i heard it screws up ur oil pressure and oil level, and rough idle.2005 Chevrolet Corvette C6
M6, Magnaflow\'s 14336
C6 Pics

Old car:
1996 Firebird A4
SLP Cold Air Intake
Magnaflow Catback Exhaust
Magnaflow Catalytic Converter

George Mason University
CEIE Major
Pi Kappa Alpha

Firebird Pics

I cant believe you paid that much to get a valve cover gasket replaced. I had that problem in my 83Z with a 350, but those things are cake to change.2001 Camaro A4
Maroon Metallic
Y87,Monsoon 500w,TTops
Appearance: Silver ZR1s w/ 275\'s
Intake: !Air Silencer, FRA Mod, k&n
Exhaust: 3\'\' Cat, 3\'\' B&B TriFlo
Misc: SLP Fan Switch, 1LE Boxed LCAs
http://www.cardomain.com/id/mshapiro

It could be your rear main seal or a valve cover.~Derrick My Webpage
\'96 3.8L V6 M5 Firebird Y87 | 162.8 RWHP / 196.7 RWTQ
• SLP CAI • Y87 Package - 3.23s • 180º thermo w/ fan switch • TB spacer from DEE
1991 Jeep Cherokee Laredo 4x4

yeah i know it was expensive, and they had to redo it once because they didn't do it correctly the first time and it was still leaking. It's a pain in the *** to change and I didn't know how to do it, so I guess I just had to pay the price.2005 Chevrolet Corvette C6
M6, Magnaflow\'s 14336
C6 Pics

Old car:
1996 Firebird A4
SLP Cold Air Intake
Magnaflow Catback Exhaust
Magnaflow Catalytic Converter

George Mason University
CEIE Major
Pi Kappa Alpha

Firebird Pics

I dont think the RMS would leak down on the Y-Pipe...
however, the intake manifold gasket is a possibility and so is the valve cover.
Depending on what side it is on, there is a possibility that it might be the oil sending unit or the oil filter (if you recently had it loose..) but Im not sure sbout thise

This probably won't help much, but I have the same kind of leak. When I turn off my car, I can hear the sizzling of the oil dripping onto the Y-pipe. In another post I said the guy quoted my repair as $250, so that's better than $500... but I'm not sure it's the same problem. Lemme know if anyone gets theirs fixed and finds for sure what the problem is.\"The Bird\" - \'95 Firebird (3.8), White
Suncoat Creations RamAir Predator hood with SC airbox, 30th Anniversary Ram Air-style stripes, Wings West W-Type ground effects, Last of the Breed Anniversary Emblems, Carsound High-Flow Cat, SLP Loudmouth Catback w/ 3.5\" slash-cut tips, and much more to come.
