    PCV = Positive Crankcase Ventilation

    Check it according to the haynes manual and that will determine if you need to replace it.

      I would change it if I were you. Cheap maintenance. It's to bring the gases, from blowby, in the crankcase back into the intake to get it burned up again. If it's clogged and not working the gases in there will have a possibility of creating leaks from the build up of pressure. It will seep thru weaks spots in gaskets causing premature leaks. It will also cause oil to sludge up. Of course, this is just worse case scenerio. You're supposed to change it at 30k. I didn't change mine til 70k and when I shook it, it's still good, but I changed it anyways since I got it.

        Jsut change it, its only like $2-3 and 5 min of no tools required work.

        Those 5 minutes include getting off the couch and going outside.

          Even cheaper than that.

          Just replaced mine this weekend = $1.87 @ the local Walmart.

          There is a little rubber gasket around the old one. Either reuse it or you will have to get one at a auto parts store.
