I tried to replace my starter today (94 3.4, 5 spd), and I can't get it out! It's stuck between the exhaust pipe coming from the right (if you're under the car) manifold and the oil pan/bellhousing. I've twisted the starter every way I could, but it wouldn't come out. The only way I can see to do it is to take off the y-pipe, or loosen the motor mounts and jack up the engine. Anybody experienced this? Sorry about the long post.

Sucks huh? You're going to have to undo the exhaust if you can't squeeeeze it out :( Some people manage to get it out ok, but most just take off the pipe.

Yep, you gotta loosen that pipe.
