    Is it possible to drop in a 4.3 or 3800 into a 2.8 car? The car is a 87 Firebird 2.8L auto. Thanks.

    anything is possible w/ the right amount of money, but doesnt seem worth it.

      ACtually both are...

      If I were you I woudl consider a v8 swap they are cheaper in 3rd gens...

      not sure how the motor mounts are on a 3800 series II and a GN 3.8L but there are turbo trans ams(BUick Grand national motor in it) from factory so they might fit in.

      As for the 4.3L I believe they the Monte Carlos came with them, might be able to do something with what they had to get it working in your Camaro.


      But eaisest swap is a 3.4L block, though it doesn't yield the greatest gains.

      V8 might be the 2nd easiest since its been done the most.

        The Vortec 4300 (or 4.3L V6) is found in the Jimmy/Sonoma/Express and Blazer/S10/Astro. Also in base-model full size pickups too. It's not in the Monte Carlo.
