I've got a 96 RS with the 3.8L, which I spun a rod bearing in. I'm going to attempt to do an engine swap, and replace it with another 3.8L. Can anyone help me on what exactly it is that I would need to do?

Do our engines come out from the top, or bottom? Im sure they come out the top, but a guy one time was telling me the bottom, but i dont see how it would come out the bottom. Just wondering.

The engines actually come out the bottem.
Ask Magnus....he did the 6-8 swap. All goes throught the bottem. He's since moved onto bigger things...and bigger displacement.
heres his page...

I'm taking it that it's your first. So with that said, get a good manual, study, make sure that you have everything that you neeed, take notes when once you start (if you need to). It's just one of those times when you have to put your balls in your back pocket and go for it......

Make sure everything is organized as you tear down too. Get a few rolls of good paper tape and a few nice sharpies and tag EVERYTHING as it comes off. 3.8 to 3.8 should'nt be too bad as for the most part a majority of the wiring will be the same. But we all know that plug and play only works on paper. Like I said...mark everything, dont be afraid to get your hands seriously dirty and make sure everything is incredibly well organized. orginization is prolly your biggest concern.3.8L Dk Blue 1998 Camaro

Soon to have 80\'s in the back
