I've been told different things by different people for awhile now on what the 3800 block/heads are made out of. One friend says its all aluminum, another says that it's an iron block with aluminum heads.. Can someone clarify this for me??

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe its:
3800 V6 --> iron block
LT1 ------> iron block
LS1 ------> aluminum blockC.
