change the transmission oil of the camaro few days ago and now i got a leak on the oil pan. i think its the gasket. what is the proper way to install the gasket?
do i have to stick the gasket in oil pan with a sealant or stick the gasket into the housing of the transmission oil?
In general, it is often best to reuse the original gasket if it's in good condition.
I clean out the pan, ensure the "lip" of the pan is particularly spotless, set the gasket back on there, and reinstall it.
The primary cause of most transmission pan leaks is overtightening the pan; it screws up the seal of the gasket. You're only supposed to reinstall it finger tight.
