Going down a hill I can hit 120+ easily too, the speed limiter is only an engine powered speed limiter, doh. That guy ripped you off.

Dominic, perhaps I am just a rookie, but I assumed that people on this page can read and use their brains to fill in what was not said. Ok, so let me go over again what I said so that it is perhaps more clear. Let me copy and paste part of my original post.

"my car hit 120 very clearly, and on the downslope of the hill, it peaked over it."

Ok, I will go into detail since I guess, somehow, the 'my car hit 120' part was unclear. I always test my car on a certain strip in the same direction. I did it a good 10-15 passes, all of which did 118. I never once went over this. I then got the job done, but someone who is a professional and is someone I would trust with my life, well, as much as you can trust a mechanic. And after that I have been able to pass the 118 mark very clearly. My fault about the hill part, I accept that it was said in my ignorance. But to let you know, he did the job and it worked. Thanks for the input, though, dominic.

I have been trying to think of ways to get around that limiter for months... I have had the idea of the manual switch, but not knowing how exactly it will affect pcm readout and speedometer readings...taking it to the dealer might work, I haven't really thought they would do it, but it is worth a shot! I am headed up there this weekend...I will keep ya posted.....

My speed limiter is defeated via HPP3. You'll be surprised how easy & fast it is to reach 125+ after the 118 mark. If you can peg the speedo, you've surely defeated the speed limiter! :D

My next mod needs to be a 155 MPH cluster! ;)

Be sure to get an aftermarket tach to go with your 155 speedo cluster....it will be looking for two more cylinders that aren't really there, and you will rev to about 4 thousand and that's it. Headed to the dealer tomorrow for possible reprogram! Later.....

yeahh.... only time I watch the tach is while racing (1st gear) so a shift light will take care of that problem! ;)

I don't know how that would affect the digital readout. On my moms camry, the VSS was bad and her speedo and odometer didn't work, that's all that was wrong.

How would you
