Didn't really know what section to put this in. I got this loud rattleing under my car but whats strange is it only happens when im in drive. when i put the car in neutral i don't really hear it. I looked under my car to see where it was comming from and it looked like my cat. i used a potholder and pushed up on my cat and when i apply pressure to it, it stop. Plesase, does anybody know what's wrong with my car??
P.S. In my garrage a bad rotten egg smell was comming from the exhaust.
well the smell im not sure on...but the rattling is probably a heat shield either one the cat or around it...just hit around under there with a hammer and find the loose piece

It's your cat. Rotten egg smell is a sign as well as the rattling. The ceramic/porcelain inside the converter has come loose and is rattling around inside, annoying and embarassing at the same time. Depending on how bad it is, it could clog your exhaust system eventually.
my cat was doing the same thing.... sooner or later it will start throwing an SES code too. i removed the heat shield from the cat, thinking that was the part that was rattling, but it is the internals.... still need to replace it. :( i guess thats my excuse to get headers too

What he said, mine eventually broke apart inside, a piece got sideways and clogged the tail-pipe, made my car almost stall under acceleration but be fine at very low rpms.
