  • on-off-on switches for fan mod?

I've assembled all the pieces necessary to install a fan switch, but I can't seem to find the actual switch. I found one at auto zone but it was really big and it looked terrible. I've checked auto zone, sutherlands, home depot, and wal-mart. Any suggestions? Has anyone else had trouble finding 3-position switches?

I tried the one in my town, but it was terrible. All I could find was 2-position switches. Maybe I'll just go ahead and order it from the website. Thanks!

I went to a local electronics store, they had a buttload of switches to choose from. To bad they didn't have the rocker style I wanted int a On-Off-On switch. Oh well, this looks just as good.

You know...if you don't smoke, I have a great way of installation!!!

I took out the black metal ash tray in my ash tray compartment, fabb'ed up a little bracket, and mounted my switch, along with 2 LEDs, right in there. It looks really good, because it's totally hidden until you open the ash tray cover. Plus, it looks real trick opening up the cover, flicking the switch, and then hearing "WRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOS H!!"

Oh yeah, did I mention you can use any type of switch you want?

Mine is the same place although I didn't do LEDs or anything special, just drilled a hole in the bottom and screwed it in. I read somewhere if you have a model year where the ashtray is in front of the shifter, it won't work.

hey blue94, your sig says you have a 3.4L and that only takes a SPST switch (on/off). 94tealfirebird (I think that's his name here) figured out how to do it on the 3.4 and posted it here on the site, and I did the same thing as him except with a lighted switch and it works fine.
