  • Where do I get intake tubing, and .....

Where do i get the intake tubing that people mak intakes out of?

Also, where would i get cone filters with bigger inlets?

ONe more question, where do i get this piping bent?

I have a new idea for an intake that might be good or it might not. i want to try anyway or at least make my own good one. I think i asked this question in a past thread but i forgot what thread it was.

If i can get info quick enough i would start this weekend and would update my thread as soon as possible.

i made mine out of PVC

a bigger filter wont do anything for you than a small filter besides it will get dirty a little bit slower

i didnt have anything bent, i just used angled peices

Home Depot was my source. Lowes has a nice selection too.
As for the filters, I got mine on ebay for $15 shipped. It was a 3" inlet, and the rubber piece I got at Home Depot fit nicely over it.

I am looking more for metal tubing, like 3 to 4 inches in diameter.

I was also thinking that with having a bigger filter and tubing to start and having the tube fradually get smaller would increase the speed and velosity of the air going into your intake.

this would theoretically make an intake that has more positive pressure toward the end MAF.

If i can get the pipes bent the way i want (with or without gradually decreasing diameter)i will spurise you guys with a cool idea that maybe noone has thought up before. maybe someone has but i would like to think i thought the "idea"

i will post pics and spend alot of time at home depot scratching my head and racking my brain. I think the end result will be around $160 and i still have no clue, if it will me better than any other intake, but i will gaurantee it will sound better and look way cooler. anyways.

does home depot have metal piping or a mandrel bender thing? I was told midas or meineke would have something like that.

wow, now all i need is a place local to bend the piping to how i want it.

I also need a way to get from 4" to 3" slowly or at a decently gradual decrease in diameter.

Ok guys, i bought some flexible 3" pipe and will be ordering the pipe that will be bent some time next week. I need some info and I will do a search right after i post this, but i need some info on moving the battery to the back. I know now how I want it bent and I think i will stick with 3" in piping.

Tomorrow while my tranny is getting serviced I will ask them and the nearby exhaust shop if they can mandrel bend this pipe. Im sad that I cant really fit 4" pipe in there to actually turn to the MAF, but am happy things just might work out the way I want.

Do you have to vent the battery if it's in the back??? should be done in a week or so.

Im not usually fond of Midas, but have given me the cheapest bid of around $50 welded and bent for what I want to do. i now need to scrap of $50 to get it done.

one more thing, no one around portland has a mandrel pipe bender. i guess they are expensive, so yeah, t wont be mandrel bent, but the bends wont be too angled so it shouldnt hurt that much.
