my idle lately has been a little bit more rougher than it used to be. its jumping around a couple hundred RPM's. my oil pressure is also moving around a little bit. what could be the problem?

one thing i did on my 3.4L was to clean the IAC sensor, just off the throttle body... i dont know if 3.8L engines have it the same (probably do), but on mine it was kept on with 2 hex screws ontop of the throttle body, i removed it, cleaned it up, (you should also clean the housing), repleaced it, reset the PCM, and boom, run much much better

    hope this helps

rear main seal? no, that is soley to keep oil from seeping out of the block at the crank.

When mine idled rough it turned out to be at stuck EGR valve. A few light raps with a hammer re-seated it and the car ran fine.

Mine is doing the exact thing, but as hard as I look through the Haynes manual, I still can't find exactly where my EGR valve is on the 3.8. It has a picture, but there are no visable familiar components that I can pinpoint and locate, so I'm completely stuck. If anyone could tell me where to find that thing, I'd appreciate it greatly, because I've been throwing an EGR code for about a year now. Thanks.

              even better clarification.

i was sitting at a redlight today. idling. its idling about normal. then my oil pressure gauge just takes a small drive and thats when it got its roughest. what would making it do that? it does it ever now and a then. i've been reading things about the oil sending unit?

as;dfkjad;slkfa. i just want this thing to run correctly
