Need Dyno help

Magnus, sorry if this doesn't qualify as technical, but most of the people with the info I need don't linger in the Gen Tech section. This is good info. with the cost of a dyno run, it makes sense to me to make sure we watch what they do and get it right.

There was a thread not long ago about the correct way to dyno our cars because of the differences in our ignition system. I am going to hit the dyno shortly and need someone to tell me the correct way to hook up the dyno.

I searched the database forever, long enough that my eyes hurt and my brains are leaking from my left ear. I know the answer is there...but elusive.

I got my car dynoed @ 2nd gear. I don't know if that helps any. :cool:

Thanks for the reply, I think the concensus is 3rd gear. My question had more to do with how to actually hook up the dyno to get accurate readings.

whats the idiot proof way??

hook the inductive sensor up to the positive line on any fuel injector..

Yep, he summed it up. I have yet to get a dyno reading with accurate RPM and torque readings. Next time I am trying the postive wire for the injector. Little hint: you must have to unwrap the wires from the electrical tape they are in to get the eradings, you can't put them all in the inducive sensor thing, that didn't work. Unwrap them, and try that.

ohh, I just had the same problem a while back an jason mcallister was nice enough to tell me the "trick".. and i have told a few people since.. I dont know a particular keyword.. but.. i am sure if you did a search for dyno and read a few of them it would have come up in most of the recent ones.. but no biggy
