rofl since when does tranny fluid damage..

One of my step dad's Z28s (the 97 A4 Z) was shifting hard from 1st to 2nd, he took it to get the tranny fluid flushed, and ever since then it's never done it again. You mightve gotten some bad tranny fluid or maybe you dropped a little oil / coolent or something crazy like that in there, even if only a tad..

Just get it flushed, for 30$, it wont cost you a new tranny like this dip**** is trying to say.

It happened on both of my camaro's once at 90K

and on my current one at 140K...

I drove it a long time without actually knowing what it was doing and it ended up costing me a $1,200 complete rebiuld. Kinda cheap for a rebiuld but preventive maintence could have cut that in half and more...

Actually changing the tranny fluid CAN damage but usually only on older transmissions that really can no longer take the weight.

I say before changing to fluid, although you probably do need it if you've never done it before... get it scanned...

My guage has been messed up for about 5-6 months. I've read on here that its a predescessor to the fuel pump going out. I just fill up every time I hit 370-390 miles on the trip meter now.

i went out and looked again... and it seems like the empty mark has moved up to the 3/4 mark... hope that sounded right...

when i turn the car off, the needle moves to right below the 3/4 mark every time now...

anyone have this happen to them?

brink ur a tool, u dont know what ur are talking about and i can only hope to god ur tranny fails on u someday soon so i can laugh at you and ur ignorance.

Please, if you dont know what you are talking about people try not to just throw info out there. I would HATE to see one of our members rush into something on bad advice and toast 1500 on a new tranny...

200 miles - Full = normal because the way our fuel tanks are shaped... Look at it this way... When you have 3/4's of a tank you REALLY have about half..

Also when you turn the car off, the gauge DOES NOT go to the empty mark, it just goes to the closest relative point of fuel you had before you turned it off... So if you have 3/4's of a tank when you shut it off, it will stay around 3/4's or go to half depending on how much fuel you have... If you had about half or a quarter it will go to the quarter mark or half... or if you're at the 1/4 mark, it will go to E or stay around 1/4... There's nothing wrong there...

it is eithre due to me running a tank with acetone before this one, or the home made ram air i did just before this one...
