I've used techron before, I liked it.
I was at autozone today and I saw a new fuel inj cleaner from Lucas. It was $3.99 per bottle, so I poured it in about 1/2 hour ago into a full tank of gas. If I feel the car act any differently, I'll post it here.

You're exactly right...that's why you shouldn't use it anymore than once every 15K.

I've used Techron for 8 yrs now and my gf uses it too. The motor runs quieter and smoother. Motor Trend showed an article on it a while back of how an independent laboratory bought some used cars with low mileage, medium mileage and high mileage. They took the pistons, pins, etc out. Took photos of it. Put everything back and run a full tank of Techron and drove each car about 500 miles and took it apart again. They showed a before and after pic of the carbon deposits on the valve pins and pistons and boy was there a difference!! BMW also tested it and found it to work. Another cleaner I found to work based on personal experience when my other car ran rough and barely accelerate, I used Restore 2-in-1 fuel system cleaner and octane booster. That fixed my car. As soon as I drove out of the gas station after putting it in. There was a slight difference, and as I drove up to 50 miles, it pretty much ran fine and smooth again.

Those are the only two I REALLY trust.

So would you suggest putting RESTORE into my 96 camaro? I just tipped over 160,000 miles and think my car could use a little doggy treat. Its been a good car, I owe it something beside abuse.

                      Alcohol won't hurt your rings.
When I was back home I ran up to 2% Methanol in 91 octaine gas, no problem.
I was about to run out of gas once so I stoped and found 2 1 pint bottles of gas deicer (isoproponol alcohol) in the trunk and dumped them in, ran fine all the way to the gas station.
I have found the best thing that gets the carbon out of an engine is a bead blaster, die grinder and dremal.
I am about to by the best fuel injector cleaner you can get, it is about $100, it can get the injectors clean enough to prepare food with if you some how found a way to, you can use it over and over again, it only takes 5-10 minutes, only draw back is you have to take the injetors out of the car. It is an ultrasonic cleaner.

I put some stp shizel in there with the jet fuel in a half tank of gas, i have conculded that it made a difference (similar to octane boost) but no real difference. now that im about on "E" The car feels sluggish. Its hard to describe what it feels like (i would have to say that i need to push more on the gas peddle) but i regret putting anything in there at all. the only cool thing at first was it made my flowmasters sound awesome. But i think it didn't do anything positive to my M.P.G.
