  • Spark Plugs & Cables for 3.8

I see some Bosch Platinum 2 spark plugs for 4$ a pop (4 x 6 = 24$ ) and some AC Delco cables (kragen.com 93535 zip code 97 maro 3.8 ) for like 38$ I'm wondering if those are good what you suggest, I'm on a limited budget i.e. cheaper = better but trying to keep some performance (don't flame I know i can't have both) but would those do good?

Is it hard to replace the spark plugs?

For plugs, you can just go with a conventional Platinum Plug from Bosch, Autolite, etc. All of those fancy electrodes look good, but they aren't gonna do your stock V6 much good. I've had a set of AC Delco Platinum's in my car for years now, and they have given me zero problems.

Wires, I have Accell 8mm that I custom-cut for my car, but if you aren't going to be running N20 or a supercharger, than a standard brand should be okay. Taylor and other brands are good wires...don't get me wrong! But if you are trying to save money, a conventional set of wires should get you through a few years without worry. Just be careful when routing the wires. Try to keep them as far off of the engine components and the exhaust manifolds as possible. Once they crack or burn through from excessive heat, they're finished and you'll be getting a nasty misfire.

These are the wires that I bought when it was time to change out my old ones. I also used the Bosch Platinum +4 plugs. Even if you're not going for performance, I noticed quicker starts and a smoother idle after I installed them. Well worth it in my eyes

I use Denso Iridium spark plugs and I'm getting som MSD wires as soon as I can. The plugs are awsome but there a bit expensive like 13 bucks a plug. Before I got my new bird I was runnin bosh platinums and had no troubls with them. Infact before a friend told me about the Denso Iridium spark plugs, I was going to run the platinums.
