theft deterrent sticker

i noticed the sticker on my window, but previously my friend tested to see if i had one, the car was off with the doors locked, the window was down see he tried opening the door, no alarm went off. I dont have the AU6 -Theft Detterent System code on my door, im guessing i dont have any anti-theft stuff... sooo why do i have the stickers on the window? did all fbody cars come with that just to possibly scare people away ?

Off the top of my head, I believe the sticker says the windows are etched with the VIN of your car.

If the alarm is armed with the window down, if you unlock it with your hand from the inside and open it from the outside it should go off.

Does it say something like "This vehicle is equipped with vehicle and radio theft deterrent systems"? I think they're just referring to the resistor chip in the key and the Theftlock system on the radio.

I think it just means there is a flashing red light on the dash... I don't know but it saved me money with allstate [img]smile.gif[/img]

I have a '93 firebird, and I found a little switch a little below the steering wheel. Its up and to the right of my hood release, when I turned it on, and tried to start the car, an alarm went off. Turned the switch back off, doesnt do a thing now. I didnt even know about this till a few days ago. Is this an aftermarket alarm?
