  • V8 swap?

So it looks like my old 3.4l might be going out. Not for sure yet, but the motor is making a really loud ticking noise. I'm gonna take the valve covers off on sunday and see what is going on but it sounds like its a bent pushrod or something along those lines.

The real question I have is my friend has a slightly built 350 v8 from his 72 chevelle. He said he would sell it to me for about $1500 straight up. It has a small problem but it can be fixed relatiley easy he says. I know its not a LS1 or an LT1, but I dont know what motor it is. With this information, do you guys know how hard and how much money/parts I would need to do this kind of a swap? Im asking becuase I'm not sure if it would be like the traditional LT1/LS1 swap.

    Thanks in advance.

No imagine how you're going to put a carb and have it not hit the dash?

Ok you'll go tuned port injection...thats still to high. You'd have to do some major work and cut the dash back and windshield to get a SBC to work.

Search... ;) LT1's are getting much cheaper now, if you want an 8, junk the 6 and buy a car with an 8 already in it.
