    Best brake pads

    Hey Guys:

    Got a stock 99 camaro. Had some Raybestos quiet stops on them for the last 40k miles or so and they were so-so. Didn't squeak much. A little here and there but the stopping power was just okay.

    Its time to change the pads. Any suggestions on some good pads that are first of all quiet but with good stopping power. Should I go with the stock AC Delcos or try something else. If i want quiet then I guess I have to get ceramic?

    i went with a set of Satisfied GranSport 6 carbon ceramics and i like them alot no noise, very little brake dust and improved stopping power over stock

    i got them for $65 from tirerack

        the quiet stops are Ceramic and have a lifetime warranty.
        Take them back and get a new free set.I love mine and have them on 2 cars,soon to be the third.

          I have them too. I also replaced the rotors with KVRs. I have an extra set of the rr Hawks pad. $50 shipped if you want it.

            how easy (or hard) is it to change the front brakes on my car? I have a 95 Firebird. My uncle can probably help me. Probably a lot of help 'cause he used to work at a mechanic shop.

              I just ordered a set of EBC red stuff brake pads. They haven't arrived yet, but I'll let you know what I think of them when I get them on. Changing your brake pads are maybe a 30 minute job. Just make sure that you have grease for all the moving parts, and some brake cleaner to get the dust off. Also, you might want to think about getting the rotors resurfaced. Trust me, it's an easy job, once you learn how to do it. You might want to pick up a Haynes manual, to help you out

                you shouldnt of gotten the red stuff. they are more for track only, i have the green stuff pads and they are great.

                  it is really easy. probably the easiest thing ive done to my car besides change the oil. took me 30 minutes tops not knowing what i was doing and using air tools

                    Wouldn't it be neat if we had big, database-like thread with:

                    What we use
                    How much it cost
                    Pros/Cons of what we got

                    I will be going through this in a few months myself.

                      Wouldn't it be neater if we could just plug a wire into our heads and download a program like the Matrix?? :D
