• Bosch Platinum 2 Questions

I have Platinum 2's and I checked my plugs today, and I noticed one prong was lower than the prong on the other side of the plug. Is this normal? I don't remember if they were like that when I put them in.

Was it like that on all of them, or just 1? The +4s I have in the BLazer were all gapped the same.

never understood why people buy the plat +2 or _+4 because having that accomplishes nothing. Sure it might work for the first hundred miles or so but once the plug starts to wear only one (of the 2 or 4) prongs will actually carry the spark. Remember electricity tries to follow the path of the least resistance.

Ken...as long as one of them still looks normal you're fine.

Milage on the Blazer went up 2~3mpg, which counts a lot on road trips. That's not an accomplishment

more than one prong NEVER gets the spark. It's purely for longevity.

I have a set of +4s that I used for 500 miles roundabout. I hate them. Lost gas mileage, lost performance, it was terrible.

Just go to your local walmart and get regular plugs. Save you about 20 dollars, then index the plugs upon install.

Have you ever tried changing the plugs on our cars.. much less the hassle of indexing? I wouldn't bother for the minimal gain you'd get.

Yup. I spent 4 hours under my car changing plugs. The biggest PITA job I've done on my car.

3.4 or 3.8 I have a 3.8, changing plugs is not that hard. And to index your plugs all you have to do is use a felt tipped marker and some copper washers

You have a tubular manifolds, which is about 100x easier than mine. or any other pre-99 Fbody.

Why did you get under your car? I have headers though, maybe that makes it easier.
A little common sense and know how, any one can do it in less than four hours.

Okay, I never tried on one a pre 99 f-body. You may have a point.

The problem with my manifolds is there isn't much space to work with. And having big hands doesn't help much.
