    I have this strange problem. When I turn my car on volt gauge reads about 10 and my check guage light is on. But after I rev the engine up to about 3-4000 the volts kick in "back up to normal" After that all is back to normal at all rpm levels. But as soon as I turn the car off and back on the same thing happens. I thought it was the battery and replaced it but it is he same problem. Any ideas?

    you should take your car to auto zone or somewhere where they can perform tests on your battery. in colder weather, this may be normal. the battery has it's biggest load during starting, so it's normal for it to read low voltage.

      Yea do that, i drove to work one time and halfway there the "check gauge" light came on and the volt gauge read really low.... below 10... so after work i went home and barely got there.... turn signals didnt work, windows barely went up or down, radio turned off.... battery was dead.... what happened was that my alternator died and it drained the *** outta my battery.... like mrbako said, take it to autozone and have them test ur alternator and battery.... it usually is free....

        How's your serpentine belt? Could it be slipping on startup?
