i can't believe it. i have now changed my oil pan 2 times, i just did it for the second time a few weeks ago along with my rear main seal, slave cyl. and clutch. i was so happy cause i didn't have to drive with the burning oil smell. so i was driving to stevethepirates place the other day and all of a sudden i got a wiff of oil. got home checked it out. sure enough i have oil under there again. i checked my crankshaft seal and that was dry. everything is dry in the front of the engine, the brace that goes under the engine has oil on it and that is where it drips from. so now i have to take it to the shop put it on a lift and check it out again. any ideas what it can be? hehehe. hopefully i get it all fixed by this weekend cause i'm driving the camaro down to tn this up coming week. i never get a break. hehe

Check the oil pressure sender. Those like to take a ****. You'll need a 1 1/16" socker for it (I *think* thats the size, I forget) if it is.

Ever thought about adding dye to your oil and using a blacklight to see everywhere its seeping out?

i had all my gaskets and seals replaced a few months back. Sure enough egine is leaking oil again...not nearly as bad, but sure enough it is. Maybe one drop of oil in the driveway every week. I just have to remind myself its american and all american cars leak. Also i was looking around at the engine and now i discovered antifreeze on top of the intake :( I bought the gaskets for that today..its going to be a weekend of fun :(

i wonder if you have a surface problem and not a gasket problem.

I have a 2000 Camaro. I was getting a leak too and a burning smell. It turned out to be the oil filter. I had not changed it since 3-2005...I guess I forgot...I still have some smell but the car is not leaking. I used 10-30 Mobil one extended . This all occured Sunday. I have 81000 miles.

Huh? Revive an old post for why?

Kristen, did you ever find the culprit? If you haven't, make sure that you have did a fine installation of the rear main seal. They can go bad a day later, if they aren't secured tightly all around.
