I took off my TB for no better reason than to see how it works. I ripped the gasket while removing it. (Doh!)
Can I use RTV or gasket sealer to re install it or must I buy a whole new gasket?
Also, how do you block off the coolant to the TB? It seems pretty pointless to have hot coolant flowing into it. Unless its for emmissions reasons.

lol...ya I wouldnt use rtv on your TB....and the only reason coolant runs through your TB which is a good thing if you live in cold climates.....it doesnt let the TB get stuck in one position....potentially causing an accident....or you'd be stuck idleing ;)
Go to autozone and get a sheet of gasket paper... your gonna have to cut out a gasket, i did tonight, after i port and polished mine and removed the pillar cause mine broke too... and then use some gasket seal in a tube to stick the gasket on and everything

Does the gasket even deal with coolatn channels on 3.8Ls?
Oddly enough I have removed my TB maybe 10 times, its ripped, half on upper intake, half on TB. Doesn't leake when I tighten the bolts down, original with 130k.

You can buy a TB gasket from a dealership. I think you would be better off buying one then making it yourself.
These are some pictures from my TB spacer install http://www.appstate.edu/~do54457/pics/
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
