engine was replaced?? good or bad??

so...
i went back home this weekend and was looking through one of my "misc" drawers and found a booklet from my car. I started flipping through it and found a receipt stating that the engine was replaced at 13,500miles....

should i be worried why this was???
or should i just forget about and remember that my car has 13,500 miles less than the odometer (on the engine)???
(that would put... 22k miles on my engine total.)

Personally I'd try to contact the previous owner and politely ask why. Seems like it couldn't be that bad of a thing... as long as it was a brand new engine they put in. If not it could have more miles on it than you think.

well, according to the paper i found
it was from the dealership
"New Engine installed on 8/21/02 (13,458 miles)"
along w/ a 12mo/12kmile warranty....

so... it says new
well i bought the car from a dealership, and i don't have info on the previous owner.. hmm maybe i'll swing by the dealership and see if they have it on record....

Run carfax on your car. Maybe engine was damaged in major collision.
