  • OK everyone HELP please!!!

OK guys I know that hot weather and humidity do not work when you want performance and it was both hot and humid tonight. But tonight I was out just cruising around and saw a few people at a local Hooters. So of course I stopped in to see what was going on. It was just a bunch of ricers and after talking for a little they all began to leave. Well, when we left everyone was trying to show off with either burnout's or dropping the clutch at an ungodly RPMs. Well, I was like one of the last to leave and I was getting ready to show them how to smoke a tire. Notice I said smoke a tire (I hate not having an LDS rear). :( But that's when it happened! I couldn't get the tires to break loose. I mean thank God I wasn't in the spot light at the time because it would have been really embarrassing to not have been able to do anything when I was talking smack to all of them just ten minutes before. I did how ever get it to spin right before I got home I mean I kept trying at every light on the way home and did get it to power brake about 2-3 times. So I guess my question is has this ever happened to any of you all before? Do you think the weather could have had a lot to do with it? Or do I really have a problem with losing power somehow?

Oh by the way the car is 100% stock and is an auto with 3.08's. Man I need 3.42s!

Yep that was off in fact I never drive with it on. I like to play to much. The only time I use it in fact is in bad weather.

My car may be a freak, but i have a 3.4 and i have no problem with burnouts, my tires are in good shape and I live in Jackson, Mississippi where it's hot and humid 24/7 365 days a year. Might want to check plugs, wires, etc. Are the 3.4's geared for more torque than the 3.8?

Ok guys thanks for posting. Now I haven't done a tune up. I mean I do have at least 70,000 mile on the plugs and wires. But today something else happened. I tried once again to power brake and the tires were spinning VERY slow. Well, I stayed in the gas and the tire speed seemed to pick up. Well, I then let off the brake and the tires got traction very fast. I was like what the F**K! I mean I used to do power brakes without even thinking about it and after I would let the brake go it would spin for a good distance. Well, that's when I went back and saw the marks. Yes, that's right I said marks. I only have 3.08's with an open rear (proved this the first time I did a power brake and found only one mark). So my question now is what caused this and does this sound like that could be what's stopping me from doing power brakes like before? I mean having to spin both tires with a 3.08 gear in the rear with only the power from a stock V6 doesn't sound to easy to me. Also what gears do you have ravenp? Thanks again guys. -Vic-
