My car has been hard to start for the past couple of months. Originally I thought it was an old battery, but recently after start up it smells of gas in and around my car for a few seconds. Also the engine just does not sound right and I am getting a small back fire every now and then. Through some searches here I think it is the Fuel Pressure Regulator. Before I replace it though I would like to know if there is any way to be certain that it is the regualtor and if there is anything else that it could be?
