im looking to pick up a used 3.8 to rebuild (or build up, as the case may be) as a winter tinkering project so that i will have an engine on hand and ready to go when my current one finally decides it aint as young as it used to be. The goal is to get an engine set up for and and working with a S/C in my garage before i transplant it into the car.
Im thinking of a 2000 engine since it seems that year and above has the most options for chips and computer programming. Am i going to run into any problems implanting a 2000 3.8 into a 97 as long a i bring all the accessories and wiring harness with it? and clearance issues with a 2000 setup in a 97 other than intake? i should be able to get around that with a custom CAI, correct?
