  • burned light on SGS switch

when I bought my car it had the light burned out on the SGS switch. Now whenever I go to drive it I can never tell if SGS is on or off . I have to drive around for a few minutes switching it back and forth and stomping on the gas to figure out when it's on. How can I fix that little light for it to go on? Sometimes it seems like it starts with it on, and others it doesnt. Can I get a replacement led or something, or would I need to get a whole new switch? Any help would be appreciated. thanks!

everytime you start your car it's automatically set to OFF. As long as you don't touch it, it's always off. Hope that helps.

I don't know what you can do to tell if it's on or not because I don't have it. But I do have the whole replacement part that you need. I happen to have it because I was going to install it and have it a switch for undercarriage lighting but never got around to it. I'll sell it to you for 15 bucks shipped. I got it from GMPartsDirect for 15 plus S&H, it was 23.99. The part number is 10273878. Lemme know. eMail me

Pretty sure you have to get the whole switch...Your best bet is to buy it off the guy who posted right before me..sounds like a good deal..

you dont have to buy the whole thing, i replaced mine. i got the bulb at radioshack for $1.50 (dont remember what kind it was, sry). first pull the plastic piece off that surrounds the radio, a/c controls, vents, etc.(you have to push in the tabs to get the fog light and/or sgs switches off). i would recommend disconnecting the electrical wire to it so you can take the switch to a place with better light. after you pull the sgs switch off, you can get the front part off and there is a metal piece you can move up and down like a teeter-totter kind of, just remember how that goes, its not too hard to figure out though if it falls out or something. the light bulb is there by the metal piece and it should come out w/o to much trouble. it has a blue sleeve over it you need to save for the new bulb. hope these help, i dont know if i remembered everything b/c it was several months ago that i did this.

thanks for the replies everyone. I think I'm gonna try doing the radio shack fix like 97rs mentioned, and then if that doesnt work out I'll see if you still have the part Red V6 Raider. Thanks for the offer still, I'm gonna try the cheap route first though. I guess since I'm changing the led, I have a choice of colors now too. That would be kinda cool to have it like blue or something. Anyways, thanks again guys!
