  • not a f-body "?" but need a little help

alright this aint an F-body question but anyway, i have a 1992 buick park avenue thats got some probs. I need a little help. 1st the power steering fluid is leaking like a waterfall would it be a hose or would it be coming from the power steering pump. next has to do with the altenator and battery. the battery seems to be dead everyday but the altenator does not seem to have any probs. would it be a bad wire or bad battery??????????? any thing will help thx. Power Steering solution:
Look at it/inspect it. People cannot tell you where the leak is coming from by a simple post. With pics, it may be easier to diagnose. More than likely it's a hose, but I cannot verify that. It can be a worn bearing within the pump's pulley, cracked housing, loose cap (I know, you checked that already...right?).

    As for the battery/alternator:
Take it to autozone and have them test the alt. and the battery. They normally do it for free. You may just have a bad ground somewhere or a bad coil in the battery. Be careful, you can dump alot of money into your car by not knowing where the problem is located and trying to go through the process of elimination by going on a spending spree at the auto store.

IF possible, drive the car to AZ, they can check the battery & alt, see if it's putting out enough volts & amps (the bench tester inside doesn't check for amps) and also they can check to see what amount of draw against the battery there is when the car is turned off.
